I fell in love with Scotland early in life and I have lived in various places, from the Orkney Islands to the Scottish capital. It is well and truly my home which I just love to show off to other people. A Highlander by heart, my wife and I now live in Edinburgh and we never tire of exploring our chosen home.
My background is in tourism, outdoor education and training with special interest in natural and cultural interpretation, heritage and the environment.
I am passionate about words and became fascinated by all things Anne Lister a few years ago (intensified by the amazing BBC drama series and a recent visit to Shibden Hall); a passion I would now like to share with others.
I am bilingual (German / English), hold current qualifications in outdoor first aid and have successfully completed several courses on topics such as natural interpretation, customer relationship management and guide training.
I also deliver a wide range of training courses from first aid to Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics.
